Responsibilities
- Architect and scale Security Posture Management and RBVM platforms covering on-premises systems, cloud resources, containers, virtual machines, endpoints, and applications.
- Build automated remediation workflows and orchestration systems to reduce response times and operate across decentralized teams.
- Integrate vulnerability scanning into development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure provisioning to enforce security policies.
- Use LLMs and AI agents for vulnerability triage, impact analysis, and context-aware remediation instructions.
- Lead vulnerability governance, including standards, SLAs, risk exceptions, and collaboration with Compliance and IT.
- Analyze complex vulnerabilities, assess true risk, and guide remediation, false-positive, and risk-acceptance decisions.
- Partner with IT, product, and operations teams to improve security posture across the environment.
- Mentor senior engineering staff and lead cross-functional security initiatives.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of industry experience in software development focused on large-scale security or infrastructure engineering.
- Expertise building distributed systems and high-availability security platforms using Golang, Java, or Python.
- Proven experience designing and operating vulnerability management tools at scale.
- Deep understanding of container security, cloud-native infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience leading cross-functional security initiatives and mentoring senior engineering staff.
- Hands-on experience developing RBVM frameworks and automated prioritization logic is preferred.
- Knowledge of AI/ML applications in security, especially vulnerability triage or large-scale data analysis, is preferred.
- Experience with External Attack Surface Management and internet-facing asset exposure tracking is preferred.
- Familiarity with Software Supply Chain Security, including SBOMs and internal package registries, is preferred.
Benefits
- Base salary is USD $232,000-$258,000 per year for roles based in New York City, San Francisco, Seattle, or Sunnyvale.
- Eligible employees may participate in Uber's bonus program and may receive equity awards and other compensation.
