Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, development, and deployment of firmware and cloud firmware features for Azure infrastructure.
- Lead and influence a team of engineers delivering reliable firmware solutions for the cloud.
- Participate in product development from microarchitecture design through firmware architecture and implementation.
- Create engineering design plans, schedules, trade-off analyses, and design decisions to deliver products on time and with high quality.
- Develop low-level drivers and troubleshoot issues spanning multiple firmware and hardware subsystems.
Requirements
- 5–10 years of professional experience designing and developing large-scale embedded software solutions.
- Experience taking X86/X64 or ARM architecture and design from early concept through final product shipment.
- Proficiency in C, C++, or Rust, with strong debugging, troubleshooting, design, and development skills.
- Experience with low-level and bare-metal firmware for GPUs, CPLDs, TPMs, PCIe, I2C, eMMC, SPI, USB, and UARTs.
- Expertise in UEFI platform development and CPU architectures including Intel, AMD, or ARM.
- Expertise in server platform architecture covering CPU, memory, PCIe, NVMe, SSD/SAS, Secure Boot, UEFI, BMC, GPUs, InfiniBand, hardware interfaces, schematics, and TPM.
- A master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
- AI/ML hardware experience with TPU, Nitro, or SmartNICs is an added advantage.
