Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain complex modern C++ software for semiconductor CAD applications.
- Translate business and system requirements into software architectures, design specifications, and implementation plans.
- Develop and optimize algorithms for layout data processing, geometry operations, and large hierarchical design databases.
- Own software features through design, implementation, unit testing, integration testing, deployment, and post-release support.
- Troubleshoot software defects and performance bottlenecks through debugging, root-cause analysis, and optimization.
- Define and execute verification and validation strategies, test plans, and automated regression testing for CAD workflows.
- Lead and participate in code reviews, design reviews, and architectural discussions.
- Lead small to medium-sized technical projects and drive deliverables to completion.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on software design and development practices.
- Collaborate with product management, QA, customer support, and internal and external customers.
- Identify opportunities for productivity improvements and software modernization.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in modern C++ and 8–15 years of software development experience.
- Thorough understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, STL, templates, smart pointers, memory management, and modern C++ design practices.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, computational geometry, multithreaded and concurrent application development.
- Solid understanding of software architecture and system integration.
- Understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems and performance-critical, memory-efficient application development.
- Experience with source control systems such as Git.
- Strong debugging, profiling, and performance optimization skills.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Preferred experience with gRPC, REST APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, automated testing frameworks, and large-scale data processing systems.
- Leadership, mentoring, cross-functional collaboration, communication, analytical problem-solving, and ability to work with minimal supervision are desired.
