Responsibilities
- Architect and build AI systems using LLMs, autonomous multi-agent architectures, classical ML models, and deep learning.
- Develop embedding, representation, retrieval, vector search, and retrieval-augmented systems at scale.
- Lead agentic AI solutions involving orchestration, memory, context management, tool invocation, and human-agent collaboration.
- Deliver generative AI applications for text, code, images, summarization, and multimodal interfaces.
- Develop multimodal and vision-language systems for detection, classification, and semantic reasoning.
- Design confidence gating, escalation, human-in-the-loop, and active-learning workflows for autonomous systems.
- Lead experiments across computer vision, NLP, LLMs, geospatial reasoning, and related emerging technology areas.
- Write production-quality Python and use PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Spark for large-scale training and inference.
- Define and track individual and business-unit KPIs with the manager.
- Mentor engineers and data scientists on prompt design, agent workflows, evaluation, and research translation.
- Contribute to patents, internal intellectual property, and peer-reviewed publications.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of ML/AI engineering experience with a record of shipping production systems.
- Strong foundation in representation learning, embeddings, vector similarity search, and retrieval-augmented approaches.
- Experience deploying deep learning models at scale, including data pipelines, evaluation, and MLOps practices.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs and modern transformer architectures.
- Proficiency in Python and PyTorch and/or TensorFlow.
- Ability to own ambiguous end-to-end problems and make independent architectural decisions.
- Experience with ML fundamentals including regression, classification, forecasting, and model interpretability.
- Experience with deep learning architectures such as CNNs, LSTMs, GRUs, GANs, BERT, diffusion models, and transformers.
- Experience building prompt-based or agent-based solutions using LLMs and frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, or AutoGen.
- Experience with large datasets, distributed systems, and frameworks such as scikit-learn and Spark.
- Geospatial or spatial-data experience, including spatial indexing, geospatial data structures, or entity resolution/conflation, is strongly valued.
- Preferred experience includes multimodal or vision-language models, human-in-the-loop systems, active learning, confidence calibration, vector databases, and large-scale data processing.
- Working knowledge of C++ or Java, exposure to TinyML, quantum computing, 3D modeling, AR/VR, or LiDAR/drone data processing, and patents or publications are advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
