Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, test, review, and maintain secure, high-quality production software.
- Build Java and Spring-based applications, APIs, microservices, algorithms, and database-backed solutions.
- Create architecture and design artifacts and ensure implementation meets design constraints.
- Develop AI agents and LLM-enabled workflows using grounding, verification, prompt-discipline, and safe data-handling practices.
- Use enterprise-authorized AI coding and automation tools to improve development, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and delivery while validating their outputs.
- Apply software development lifecycle practices and support application resiliency, security, and operational stability.
- Guide peers on responsible and effective use of AI-assisted engineering tools.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 3 years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced Java experience including object-oriented design, concurrency, performance, and debugging.
- Strong experience with Spring Boot, related Spring frameworks, REST APIs, security, JPA persistence, Apache Kafka, Elasticsearch, and unit/integration testing.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining software in a large corporate environment using modern programming and database-querying languages.
- Hands-on experience with Copilot, Claude Code, or similar approved AI-assisted development tools.
- Experience building AI agents or LLM-enabled workflows, including prompt discipline, grounding and verification strategies, and sensitive-data handling.
- Practical Kubernetes experience and knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
- Understanding of secure coding, application resiliency, and responsible AI use in engineering workflows.
- Preferred experience with resilient microservice patterns, distributed tracing, event-driven design, and cloud technologies.
