Responsibilities
- Design, build, own, and operate web applications and cloud services as part of a self-organized engineering team.
- Own end-to-end delivery of a service area or feature set from design through deployment and ongoing operation.
- Contribute to system design, implementation, deployment pipelines, operational readiness, and quality practices.
- Operate services through monitoring, alerting, metrics, logging, incident response, and root-cause analysis.
- Translate product and business requirements into scalable, reliable, and maintainable solutions with engineering, architecture, and product partners.
- Identify and drive improvements in scalability, reliability, performance, usability, and security.
- Participate in design and code reviews and provide technical mentorship.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 7–10 years of relevant software engineering experience.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging skills across multiple services and system components.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, with Jenkins preferred.
- Proficiency in at least one modern statically typed language such as Go or Java.
- Understanding of software design principles, architectural patterns, cloud-native design, API design, and service contracts.
- Experience writing clean, maintainable, and reusable code and building high-performance, highly available services at scale.
- Knowledge of testing strategies, automated builds, comprehensive test coverage, web application systems, performance metrics, and cloud-native development.
- Strong experience with database technologies such as MySQL and DynamoDB and understanding of caching strategies.
- Hands-on experience with the AWS ecosystem and, ideally, experience using or contributing to open-source software.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, ownership, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
