Smart Plan Technical Consultant (Must have experience using Java, Python or SQL for Data extraction) - United States Remote
EllucianResponsibilities
- Lead setup and configuration of Ellucian Smart Plan for new clients.
- Design and refine advising rules, facilitate data migration, and integrate data from Banner or Colleague while maintaining data integrity.
- Interview clients to understand advising needs and customize rules accordingly.
- Present Ellucian Smart Plan features in client meetings and provide proactive, real-time support.
- Write queries using Java Query Language and SQL for data extraction and analysis.
- Use Linux shell for log reading and service management, issue isolation, and testing.
- Collaborate with developers and QA teams to troubleshoot issues.
- Define task scope and success criteria, create task reporting templates, and coordinate cross-team work using Confluence.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience using Java, Python, or SQL for data extraction.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, coordination, and client-support skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks against inflexible deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
- Experience or understanding of degree audit software and academic advising processes is relevant to the role.
