Base Salary
$111k - $177k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, deploy, operate, upgrade, monitor, and troubleshoot software for distributed research environments.
- Develop and contribute to open-source software projects that advance research computing and hybrid cloud development.
- Transition research and prototype software and systems solutions into production environments.
- Design, train, measure, optimize, and deploy AI models for LLMs, visual models, and other research algorithms.
- Work with academic, industry, university, research, and production-computing partners and advise users and design engineers.
- Participate in research projects and student-oriented activities including hackathons, tutorials, mentoring, and independent student projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of multiple programming languages and distributed software development, including containers.
- Software design and implementation experience, including significant open-source contributions with developer and systems-engineering teams.
- Knowledge of AI models, measurement, and optimization, including primary responsibility for designing and deploying varied models.
- Experience using and maintaining Linux, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
- Knowledge of software development and release using Agile processes with distributed teams.
- Knowledge of development tools, repositories, and CI/CD platforms.
- Experience advising users and design engineers in research or production computing environments.
