Responsibilities
- Architect, design, implement, and optimize complex distributed payment systems spanning frontend, backend, APIs, data pipelines, and infrastructure.
- Write and review production-grade code while improving performance, reliability, correctness, observability, CI/CD, and security.
- Own large-scale payment microservices, event-driven pipelines, caching systems, and real-time APIs serving millions of users.
- Optimize systems for concurrency, throughput, cost efficiency, high availability, data integrity, fault tolerance, and multi-region scaling.
- Participate in on-call operations and drive incident prevention and reliability improvements.
- Guide web, mobile, middleware, and backend teams toward cohesive, performant experiences.
- Build or integrate AI agents and intelligent automation into payment workflows.
- Mentor senior engineers and technical peers and collaborate with product, design, and infrastructure leaders on technical vision and product strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 15+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrated success in large-scale distributed systems.
- Deep expertise in full-stack development using Java, Go, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or equivalent technologies.
- Strong experience with core payment systems, microservices, event-driven systems, APIs, real-time data processing, algorithms, data structures, concurrency, and system design.
- Ability to deliver rapidly and reliably in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
- Preferred: master’s or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
- Preferred: experience building and deploying AI agents, GenAI, RAG, workflow automation, and LLM-based systems in production.
- Preferred: deep knowledge of distributed microservices, Kubernetes, containerization, serverless architectures, and multi-region scaling.
- Preferred: payment systems experience at global fintech companies, publications, patents, or open-source contributions in distributed systems, payments, or AI applications.
- Fluent English is required; Korean is a plus, along with strong communication skills for global stakeholder collaboration.
