Responsibilities
- Architect, design, implement, and review production-grade code for complex distributed, cloud-native payment systems.
- Optimize critical paths and systems for performance, reliability, correctness, concurrency, throughput, and cost efficiency under global workloads.
- Own large-scale payment microservices, event-driven pipelines, caching systems, and real-time APIs.
- Guide teams across web and mobile frontends, middleware, and backend services to deliver cohesive and performant experiences.
- Drive best practices in distributed computing, fault tolerance, observability, security, CI/CD, and multi-region scaling.
- Participate in on-call rotation and lead improvements in reliability and incident prevention.
- Build or integrate AI agents and intelligent automations into payment workflows.
- Mentor senior engineers and Sr. Staff-level peers while shaping technical vision and product strategy with cross-functional leaders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 15+ years of software engineering experience with proven success in large-scale distributed systems.
- Deep expertise in full-stack development using Java, Go, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or equivalent technologies.
- Strong knowledge of payment systems, microservices, event-driven systems, APIs, real-time data processing, algorithms, data structures, concurrency, and system design.
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical discipline is preferred.
- Payment systems experience at global fintech companies is preferred.
- Hands-on experience deploying AI Agents, GenAI, RAG, workflow automation, and LLMs in production-scale systems is preferred.
- Deep knowledge of Kubernetes, containerization, serverless architectures, cloud-native systems, and multi-region scaling is preferred.
- Publications, patents, or open-source contributions in distributed systems, payments, or AI applications are preferred.
- Fluent English is required; Korean is a plus, along with strong communication skills for global stakeholders.
