Responsibilities
- Solve challenging business problems and build highly scalable and highly available applications.
- Design, document, and implement new systems, enhancements, and modifications using Java 8 or 17 and Spring.
- Build and deploy services on AWS using technologies such as Docker, Terraform, RDS Aurora, S3, and ECS.
- Handle large amounts of data and contribute to automated continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
- Implement new functionality in cooperation with engineering teams and users.
- Participate in peer design and code reviews.
- Maintain test coverage and assist with engineering problem resolution through hands-on participation.
- Communicate project status, issues, and risks clearly and promptly.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience with hands-on Java 8 or higher development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience with Docker and containerization.
- Experience with AWS, particularly DynamoDB, ECS, S3, Lambda, and RDS Aurora.
- Knowledge of design patterns, software development best practices, object-oriented programming, and maintainable code.
- Knowledge of software testing approaches and tools, including unit, integration, performance, BDD, and TDD testing.
- Exposure to microservices architecture and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with Terraform is desirable.
- Experience with Git or similar modern version control systems.
- Experience designing and consuming web services.
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, including schema and query design and implementation.
- Experience with Agile software development.
