Base Salary
$79k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Implement and optimize scalable distributed-system components and large-scale data-processing systems.
- Design fault-tolerant components using redundancy, replication, automatic failover, retries, circuit breakers, and timeouts.
- Develop performance, load, fault-injection, brown-out, and functional tests.
- Build alarms, dashboards, telemetry, alerting, runbooks, and operational procedures to detect and recover from failures.
- Diagnose and resolve operational issues, create troubleshooting automation, and participate in support rotations, incident response, and root-cause investigations.
- Apply encryption, access controls, security remediation, compliance practices, and documentation standards to cloud infrastructure.
- Maintain infrastructure automation and tooling and follow change-management procedures for patching, updates, and rollbacks.
- Track work, collaborate across teams, troubleshoot problems, share knowledge, and improve team processes.
Requirements
- Experience designing, implementing, and optimizing components of distributed systems for scalability, reliability, and operability.
- Ability to work with distributed state management, data-plane platforms, replication, synchronization, failover, and large-scale data processing.
- Experience with performance testing, reliability testing, observability, operational troubleshooting, automation, and incident response.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure security measures, including encryption, access controls, remediation, compliance, and documentation.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritize changing work, collaborate across teams, and address standard and non-standard technical issues.
