Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated solutions for measuring battery life, energy consumption, and power efficiency across Windows devices.
- Own the accuracy, reliability, and repeatability of energy-efficiency measurements across test cycles, hardware platforms, and product releases.
- Define and improve methodologies, metrics, and validation approaches for power-related user experiences.
- Build automation frameworks and deployment mechanisms for assessment workloads.
- Analyze power-consumption patterns and system behavior to improve measurement quality and ecosystem alignment.
- Collaborate with hardware, silicon, OEM, and platform engineering teams on energy-efficiency evaluation and validation.
- Deliver secure, maintainable, production-quality software that meets engineering, compliance, and release requirements.
- Participate in technical design reviews and contribute to code quality, engineering excellence, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with one or more of C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Understanding of power management and measurement, sleep and power-state transitions, and device and driver behavior.
- Strong Windows debugging and troubleshooting skills, including diagnosing non-deterministic or flaky measurement results.
- Ability to work independently on features with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills in Mandarin and English.
- Preferred: hands-on experience with ETW tracing and the Windows Performance Toolkit, including WPR/WPA.
- Preferred: familiarity with ADK/WAT, Windows power-management internals, energy-efficiency validation, battery-life goals, CI/CD, code signing, secure-by-default engineering, AI tools, data analysis, and OEM/IHV collaboration.
