Responsibilities
- Shape the technical direction and roadmap of Core Backend by building shared services, libraries, and developer tools.
- Design and evolve shared backend capabilities for event-driven communication, application-level encryption, and sensitive data protection.
- Develop and improve internal tools including the Service Catalog, API Registry, SLO platform, and AI-assisted development tools.
- Drive complex initiatives from discovery and design through implementation, rollout, and production validation across teams.
- Support integrations and migrations, gather user feedback, and improve shared systems accordingly.
- Stay hands-on with Go while validating performance and failure scenarios and building observability and recovery mechanisms.
- Raise engineering standards through architecture reviews, technical decisions, mentoring, and documentation.
Requirements
- 7+ years of backend engineering experience, including building and operating production systems at scale.
- Strong Go experience and a record of remaining hands-on in senior technical roles.
- Deep expertise in distributed, high-load systems; the stated stack includes PostgreSQL, Redis, Kubernetes, GCP, GitLab, and microservices.
- Proven ownership of complex initiatives from design through production, including lasting architecture and technology decisions.
- Strong understanding of quality, security, observability, and operational excellence.
- Experience integrating third-party APIs and contributing to product development.
- Ability to influence cross-team decisions and explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar across a team or organization.
- Strong English and a proactive, autonomous approach to ambiguous problems.
