Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design, operate, and optimize production Kubernetes clusters at scale on AWS, including architecture, upgrades, nodes, networking, storage, and tenant isolation.
- Collaborate across engineering teams on service mesh architecture, troubleshooting, performance tuning, capacity planning, and large-scale rollout strategy.
- Define and enforce Kubernetes workload, resource management, security, Helm, and deployment standards across teams.
- Scale infrastructure for customer demand, data sovereignty requirements, and regional expansion.
- Automate deployment, monitoring, incident response, and capacity management using GitOps and CI/CD practices.
- Develop operational practices, runbooks, platform standards, and durable guardrails adopted by multiple teams.
- Support PCI compliance through secure platform design, controls implementation, and audit readiness.
- Participate in global on-call rotations, post-incident reviews, production escalations, and systemic reliability improvements.
- Influence infrastructure roadmaps and engineering practices across global teams.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in 24x7 production operations supporting highly available SaaS or cloud environments.
- 7+ years of experience with containerization, virtualization, and configuration management technologies.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience designing and operating service meshes at scale in production Kubernetes environments.
- 4+ years of production Kubernetes experience at scale.
- 4+ years of Terraform experience managing infrastructure across multiple AWS accounts and regions.
- 4+ years of experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines for Terraform, Kubernetes, and microservices.
- 4+ years of experience with Python, Go, or similar scripting/programming languages, plus strong shell scripting proficiency.
- Strong understanding of Linux, networking, distributed systems, production troubleshooting, and highly scaled service mesh operations.
- Experience with service mesh adoption strategy, sidecar resource management, control plane scaling, performance tuning, and high request volumes.
- Experience with monitoring and logging stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenSearch or equivalent.
- Preferred experience with multi-cluster or multi-region service mesh federation, including Istio or Linkerd extensions.
- Preferred familiarity with PCI DSS, FedRAMP-adjacent practices, and regulated enterprise SaaS platforms.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent technical experience.
- Strong collaboration, influence, process leadership, and communication skills across global engineering teams.
