Responsibilities
- Lead Azure integration and cloud engineering activities while providing architectural guidance and technical oversight.
- Design, develop, and maintain Azure Data Factory pipelines, Azure Databricks solutions, and Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 environments.
- Develop secure REST API integrations with the DoD ILER platform and other enterprise systems.
- Establish engineering standards, coding practices, and design patterns, and mentor developers through reviews and technical guidance.
- Collaborate with DevSecOps teams on CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, monitoring, logging, alerting, and production readiness.
- Create technical documentation, implementation guides, architecture artifacts, and presentations for leadership and VA stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of software engineering or data engineering experience.
- 5+ years of experience designing and implementing Microsoft Azure cloud solutions, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2.
- Strong experience with enterprise integration solutions, REST APIs, cloud-native services, ETL/ELT architectures, and large-scale data pipelines.
- Expertise with Python, PySpark, SQL, JSON, Git, Azure DevOps, and Azure Monitor.
- Experience leading engineering teams or serving as a technical lead on enterprise software projects.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Government/Public Trust clearance, including required fingerprinting.
- Experience supporting VA, DoD, or other federal agencies is desirable.
- Microsoft Azure certifications and experience with Azure API Management, Azure Functions, Event Grid, Event Hubs, Service Bus, healthcare or military systems integration, NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP, and secure cloud architecture principles are desirable.
