Responsibilities
- Own and contribute to the architecture and hands-on development of enterprise Java applications.
- Provide technical guidance on design and implementation across distributed nearshore, offshore, UK, and European teams.
- Develop client and server components using Java, Java EE/Jakarta EE, Eclipse RCP, SWT, JFace, and WildFly.
- Modernize legacy forensic systems and support modularization and development of new platforms.
- Design and optimize backend services, data models, and high-performance processing logic using PostgreSQL, JPA/Hibernate, JPQL, and CriteriaBuilder.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated build, deployment, and release processes using Azure DevOps, Docker, Maven, and Eclipse Tycho.
- Ensure code quality, test coverage, performance, scalability, production stability, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, architecture, business, and IT stakeholders.
- Support team mobilization, onboarding, training, and knowledge transfer across distributed delivery centers.
Requirements
- 10 or more years of enterprise Java development and DevOps experience.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, master's degree in computer science, or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience in software architecture and hands-on enterprise development.
- Strong experience with Java, Java EE/Jakarta EE, Eclipse RCP, SWT, JFace, PostgreSQL, and WildFly Application Server.
- Experience with JPA/Hibernate, JPQL, CriteriaBuilder, Git, Azure DevOps, Docker, Maven, and Eclipse Tycho.
- Experience working in regulated or complex operational environments such as forensics or LIMS is preferred.
- Strong collaboration, analytical reasoning, problem-solving, communication, writing, attention to detail, and knowledge-transfer skills.
- Ability to work effectively with distributed UK, European, nearshore, and offshore teams.
