Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-performance, scalable, consistent, and reliable service features for distributed systems.
- Optimize database operations and develop patterns for data integrity, consistency, and efficient manipulation across distributed datasets.
- Implement solutions for complex scalability challenges and build and scale database services on public cloud platforms.
- Participate in on-call rotations and troubleshoot database-related production issues to maintain high availability and minimize disruption.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
- Strong computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems architecture.
- At least 5 years of progressive software engineering experience focused on large-scale, database-intensive, and highly distributed applications.
- Experience with Database-as-a-Service platforms and their underlying distributed architecture.
- Strong programming skills in Java or C++.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, or other cloud platforms.
- Experience with PostgreSQL software development or open-source community contributions is preferred.

- The stated base salary is location-dependent: $148,500–$223,900 annually, or $178,900–$246,000 annually in select San Francisco and New York City metropolitan areas.
