Responsibilities
- Design and implement AI-native product and platform capabilities.
- Build scalable, reusable, production-quality software across UI, backend, and AI-driven systems.
- Lead complex multi-team technical initiatives and resolve architectural conflicts.
- Own features from design through implementation, automated testing, and delivery.
- Build evaluation infrastructure including golden datasets, multi-turn suites, judge calibration, CI gates, and drift detection.
- Integrate LLM APIs, tool and function calling, structured outputs, retrieval systems, and guardrails.
- Make architectural trade-offs involving latency, cost, scalability, reliability, and model quality.
- Lead architecture and code reviews, mentor senior engineers, and improve engineering quality.
- Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define customer-focused features.
- Set standards for AI-assisted development and contribute to software architecture and quality practices.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience delivering high-quality products.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with LLM prompting, agent design, and retrieval systems such as RAG and semantic search.
- Experience integrating LLM APIs such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Bedrock, or Vertex, including tool/function calling, structured-output enforcement, and guardrails.
- Experience building and debugging AI evaluation harnesses, metrics, datasets, model predictions, and inference consistency checks.
- Working knowledge of embeddings, vector stores, probabilistic-system failure modes, and production debugging.
- Strong JavaScript/Node.js, Python, and Java skills, with data modeling and query optimization experience.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance optimization.
- Frontend experience with React, Lit, Angular, or Vue for conversation-first experiences.
- Experience with automated testing, containers, observability, CI/CD pipelines, and customer-facing production systems.
- Experience with LLM orchestration frameworks and vector databases such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, and pgvector.
- Familiarity with JUnit, Playwright, TestNG, or similar automated testing frameworks.
- Understanding of software reliability, observability, production readiness, and performance troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated mentorship, effective code review, and communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfort using IDEs, debuggers, profilers, source control, and Unix-based systems.
- Experience using AI-powered tools or workflows and applying critical thinking to AI integration in work processes.
