Base Salary
$187k - $259k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate self-serve ETL/ELT frameworks for batch and streaming workloads.
- Drive the technical roadmap for the data platform and evaluate build-vs-buy decisions.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to design data contracts and onboard new data domains.
- Architect and enforce data lineage, schema registry, and access controls.
- Monitor, alert, debug, and resolve incidents across the data platform.
- Raise the technical bar through code reviews and mentorship of junior engineers.
- Participate in on-call rotation for incident response.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in building and operating data infrastructure in production.
- Strong system design skills with experience in writing design docs and making trade-offs.
- Solid understanding of key metrics for data pipelines and experience in building visibility solutions.
- Deep proficiency in Python or Java/Kotlin with a focus on testing and code quality.
- Production experience with cloud data warehouses like Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect.
- Familiarity with at least one streaming technology such as Kafka, Flink, or Kinesis.
- Experience with data modeling and transformation frameworks like dbt.
- Experience in building observability for data systems.
- Experience operating in a regulated environment with a focus on data governance.
