Base Salary
$111k - $170k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain payment services and APIs using C# and .NET/.NET Core.
- Integrate with payment processors, gateways, acquiring banks, third-party providers, and digital wallets.
- Build payment abstraction layers and implement authorization, capture, settlement, refunds, and chargebacks.
- Develop payment routing, retry logic, failover handling, POS and e-commerce payment flows, mPOS, in-app payments, hosted payment pages, and Text-to-Pay solutions.
- Maintain integrations using REST APIs, webhooks, and other payment protocols.
- Monitor and troubleshoot payment transactions and production issues while improving performance, scalability, and transaction success rates.
- Participate in incident response and root cause analysis, and contribute to logging, metrics, and alerting.
- Collaborate with Product and Architecture teams, participate in planning and code reviews, and write clean, maintainable, well-tested code.
Requirements
- 5–10 years of software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in C# and .NET/.NET Core.
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating third-party systems or APIs.
- Familiarity with payment systems or financial transactions.
- Understanding of secure coding practices and data protection.
- Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
- Strong problem-solving, production-debugging, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred: experience with payment gateways, processors, POS systems, digital wallets, mobile payments, or alternative payment methods.
- Preferred: familiarity with EMV, tokenization, 3DS, PCI-DSS, event-driven systems, messaging platforms, cloud platforms, and tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
