Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Create solutions that meet regulatory needs for Capital One.
- Mentor engineering team members and participate in internal and external technology communities.
- Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions.
- Stay current with technology trends, evaluate code, and occasionally write code.
- Use Java, Python, SQL, Node.js, Go, Scala, databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience required; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing required.
- Preferred: master’s degree, 9+ years with Java, Scala, Python, Go, or Node.js, 3+ years with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service, and 4+ years with open-source frameworks.
- Preferred: at least 1 year of people management experience and 2+ years of Agile practices.
- Preferred: experience using interactive AI tooling beyond basic code completion.
