Base Salary
$155k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the product experience of AI applications deployed into enterprise customer environments from discovery through iteration.
- Work directly with customers to understand workflows, pain points, and desired outcomes.
- Translate ambiguous customer needs into clear product and technical decisions.
- Build high-quality full-stack features spanning data models, APIs, and user interfaces.
- Collaborate with Applied AI and Platform engineers to ship cohesive, production-grade solutions.
- Iterate based on real usage and customer feedback.
- Establish product engineering standards and reusable patterns that scale quality.
- Surface customer deployment insights to inform Handshake’s core product direction.
Requirements
- Product engineering experience with strong full-stack instincts and a high bar for product quality.
- Experience working in an environment where engineering and product craft were a genuine priority.
- Proficiency with modern backend frameworks, APIs, data modeling, React, and TypeScript.
- Strong product judgment and willingness to improve issues across any layer of the stack.
- Ability to make pragmatic technical decisions that serve the product.
- Comfort working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with real customers and real stakes.
- Strong communication skills for translating between business needs and technical decisions.
- Preferred: experience building or integrating production AI-powered features in customer-facing products.
- Preferred: experience working in or alongside enterprise deployment environments.
- Preferred: close collaboration with designers or a design background.
- Preferred: experience with a forward-deployed or embedded engineering model.
