Responsibilities
- Participate in production incident bridge calls and provide real-time troubleshooting for API and backend-service failures.
- Own production issues through diagnosis, isolation, hotfix implementation, root-cause analysis, and permanent remediation.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable .NET and ASP.NET Core APIs, microservices, business logic, and financial transaction workflows.
- Lead backend architecture, API contracts, service interfaces, data models, distributed systems, and event-driven design.
- Implement secure transaction processing, data protection, financial compliance controls, and audit-ready systems.
- Design and optimize SQL, NoSQL, and relational databases while maintaining data integrity and performance.
- Integrate backend services with payment gateways, banking APIs, and third-party systems.
- Optimize systems for low latency, high availability, reliability, and high-volume transaction processing.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, enforce engineering practices, and lead technical design discussions.
- Document incidents and preventive actions while collaborating with architects, product teams, QA, DevOps, and infrastructure teams.
Requirements
- 8–12+ years of backend development experience.
- Strong experience in financial services, banking, or fintech is mandatory.
- Strong proficiency in C#, .NET Core, .NET 8+, and ASP.NET Core.
- Hands-on experience building REST and Web APIs, microservices, enterprise-grade applications, and distributed systems.
- Strong SQL Server and database-design knowledge, with experience in PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Entity Framework or other ORM tools.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP and familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of scalability patterns, system design, event-driven architecture, security, encryption, OAuth2, JWT, OIDC, PCI, and SOX.
- Strong analytical, debugging, communication, stakeholder-management, mentoring, and technical-leadership skills.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred experience includes low-latency or real-time systems, payment systems such as ACH, RTP, cards, and SWIFT, Kafka or RabbitMQ, Domain-Driven Design, identity platforms, core banking integrations, Redis, and Apigee.
