Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the end-to-end architecture of the platform, including backend services, frontend applications, data stores, AI services, and cloud infrastructure.
- Design and oversee scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot on AWS, with additional GCP and Azure exposure.
- Guide Python FastAPI AI services and integrations with OpenAI and Vapi for conversational and voice AI use cases.
- Define data architecture and performance strategies across MongoDB and Redis.
- Oversee WebSocket real-time features, MSG91 and WhatsApp messaging workflows, authentication, identity, observability, and monitoring.
- Set technical direction for Angular, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and Electron applications.
- Lead HRMS and ATS integrations involving data synchronization, SSO, webhooks, candidate and employee data exchange, APIs, and files.
- Represent engineering in client, pre-sales, and onboarding discussions and translate requirements into technical designs and delivery estimates.
- Mentor backend, frontend, and AI engineers and conduct architecture and design reviews.
- Manage build-versus-buy decisions, technical debt, architecture documentation, Maven build processes, and CI/CD pipelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- 8-14 years of overall software engineering experience, including at least 3 years designing and owning production system architecture at scale.
- Experience architecting systems combining backend services, frontend applications, cloud infrastructure, and third-party integrations.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, AWS, MongoDB, Redis, Python, FastAPI, WebSockets, Maven, Angular, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Electron, Grafana, and Sentry.
- Experience with GCP and Azure in addition to AWS, plus exposure to containerization, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD pipeline design.
- Experience with OpenAI APIs, Vapi, MSG91, WhatsApp Business API, Judge0, Microsoft Graph API, Microsoft SSO, OAuth2, SAML, OIDC, and Jupyter.
- Familiarity with conversational AI, voice-bot platforms, and prompt engineering for LLM-based features.
- Experience presenting technical solutions directly to clients or in pre-sales and solutioning contexts.
- Strong understanding of security, data privacy, and compliance for HR and candidate data.
- Experience in HR technology, staffing, recruitment, or workforce-management platforms is strongly preferred.
- AWS Solutions Architect or equivalent Azure/GCP certifications are a plus.
