Responsibilities
- Create and enhance complex, business-critical data pipelines using data processing tools and automation.
- Expand deep learning and LLM-powered extraction of clinical insights from global datasets.
- Develop creative, scalable solutions to technical and business challenges.
- Help shape team roadmaps and technology direction.
- Collaborate with international software engineers and with oncologists, clinicians, product leaders, quantitative scientists, and customers.
- Help build European engineering teams and company culture.
- Iterate rapidly while maintaining engineering quality and security practices.
- Develop expertise in UK healthcare data sources, security, privacy, information governance, and emerging trends.
Requirements
- 4–8 years of relevant professional experience as a data engineer.
- Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as Python, C#, and SQL, with willingness to learn new languages.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and data warehouses such as Snowflake.
- Experience with data processing and orchestration tools such as Databricks, Spark, Ray, DBT, Prefect, and/or Airflow.
- Ability to collaborate with product teams, explain technical concepts to sophisticated non-technical audiences, and communicate effectively in English.
- Preferred qualifications include UK healthcare experience or exposure to healthcare standards such as HL7.
- A bachelor’s, master’s, and/or Ph.D. in computer science or a related field is optional.
- Infrastructure, DevOps, or security engineering experience is optional.
