Base Salary
$138k - $185k/yr
Responsibilities
- Implement key components of a public cloud platform, primarily on AWS.
- Develop and maintain secure production code and infrastructure automation using Python and Terraform.
- Design cloud solutions across AWS and GCP, including compute, containerized, serverless, and managed database architectures.
- Propose practical architectures, tradeoffs, standards, and platform guardrails aligned with security and controls expectations.
- Partner with operations, SRE, security, risk, and controls stakeholders to deliver compliant, observable, and audit-ready solutions.
- Improve automation, CI/CD pipelines, quality gates, testing strategy, and repeatable environment provisioning.
- Operate and improve AWS database platforms, including monitoring, performance, capacity, backup and restore, and availability practices.
- Lead responsible adoption of AI-assisted engineering tools and establish validation standards for generated code and infrastructure.
- Coach engineers on safe AI-tool usage, including protection of sensitive data and review of security, licensing, and compliance implications.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 4+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience developing and designing software on AWS and GCP, including AWS database services and supporting infrastructure.
- Strong practical proficiency in Python and Terraform for production-grade automation and infrastructure as code.
- Advanced knowledge of AWS and GCP services across traditional compute, containerized workloads, serverless architectures, and database integrations.
- Experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, security, and compliant engineering workflows.
- Working experience with Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, IntelliJ IDEA, and Visual Studio Code.
- Practical SQL and/or NoSQL experience with managed AWS database services, including data modeling, performance, availability, backup/restore, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Amazon RDS, including RDS SQL Server or PostgreSQL, is preferred.
- Experience building reusable Terraform modules and standardized, policy-aligned infrastructure patterns is preferred.
- Experience operating AWS database platforms at scale is preferred.
- AWS certification and Terraform Certified Associate certification are preferred.
- Experience using Copilot in team workflows and understanding LLM limitations and associated security, licensing, and intellectual-property risks is preferred.
