Responsibilities
- Own product initiatives from problem understanding through outcome validation.
- Gather context, define hypotheses and success criteria, shape work, and drive initiatives forward.
- Work directly with merchants, business stakeholders, Product Design, and other engineering teams.
- Build and operate production software across backend and frontend systems.
- Make product and technical decisions with incomplete information.
- Use data, feedback, and experiments to decide whether to iterate, change direction, or stop.
- Contribute to evolving Merchant Portal into a platform used by other B2B teams.
- Use AI throughout exploration, implementation, testing, debugging, and learning unfamiliar systems.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience building production software.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience owning work beyond implementation.
- Ability to work across backend and frontend as needed.
- Comfort with ambiguity, incomplete information, autonomy, ownership, and accountability.
- Strong product and customer curiosity.
- Comfort working directly with stakeholders and other teams.
- Experience using AI meaningfully in a software development workflow.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Preferred qualifications include Ruby on Rails and/or React experience, strong full-stack experience, experience building platforms for other teams, product discovery or experimentation experience, success-metrics experience, and Spanish fluency.
