Responsibilities
- Own complex safety infrastructure projects end-to-end.
- Build and maintain systems for automated content review and enforcement.
- Apply an adversarial mindset to anticipate security and abuse scenarios.
- Collaborate with Trust & Safety, ML, Policy, and product teams.
- Break down multi-milestone projects into manageable work streams.
- Debug and resolve issues within the team's codebase.
- Contribute to technical design discussions and documentation.
- Establish best practices and maintain the team's quality bar.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience focused on backend services.
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Experience building and operating distributed systems at scale.
- Demonstrated ability to own projects end-to-end.
- Strong debugging skills and ability to navigate complex codebases.
- Excellent collaboration skills with cross-functional partners.
- Experience in larger engineering organizations with multiple teams.
- Quality-centered mindset with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated adversarial thinking for system vulnerabilities.
- Experience with distributed systems concepts and cloud platforms.
- Experience in 24/7 on-call rotations.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
