Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Map monitoring and alert sources across Systems, Network, and Security engineering and determine appropriate webhook, syslog, API, or native-connector integrations.
- Build and maintain the alert-routing and forwarding layer into GIOC ticketing and paging tools while preserving priority, severity, and triage context.
- Validate routing and resolve-versus-escalate logic with engineering subject-matter experts.
- Own on-call and notification wiring so critical alerts reach GIOC within agreed acknowledgment SLAs without manual relay.
- Design and build a unified operational dashboard across Airtel, Nextra, Equinix, QTS, and CoreSite.
- Define and deliver dashboard v1 with GIOC and pillar leads on a committed milestone.
- Operate legacy tools and the new dashboard in parallel during transition to preserve visibility.
- Build SLA and health visualizations for acknowledgment time, escalation accuracy, and open-alert aging.
- Build correlation engines and integrate telemetry from various product teams.
- Document the routing architecture and dashboard for ongoing maintenance by GIOC or the Tools team.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of experience in Tools/Platform Engineering or a similar infrastructure role.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience with monitoring and alerting tooling, including Icinga or an equivalent NMS, Grafana, and at least one SIEM platform such as Splunk, QRadar, or Sentinel.
- Experience mapping and consolidating unfamiliar, multi-team monitoring and alerting environments, ideally in cloud, hosting, or multi-datacenter operations.
- At least 3 years of experience building integrations against APIs or webhooks, with scripting ability in Python or a similar language.
- 2–3 years of experience building or substantially modifying operational dashboards using Grafana, Kibana, Power BI, or similar tools.
- Understanding of ticketing and ITSM workflows, including Jira, Confluence, and Mattermost, and how alert priority and severity map to ticket fields.
- Preferred experience with multi-provider or datacenter operational environments and with NOC, SOC, or similar 24x7 operations functions.
- Equivalent hands-on Vultr experience is a strong plus.
