Base Salary
$125k - $135k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and operate recursive, reverse, and authoritative DNS infrastructure at scale, including Knot Resolver and PowerDNS integrations.
- Maintain and evolve the PHP-based DNS API, including potential modernization in Go or Rust.
- Diagnose and resolve complex DNS and network incidents as an organizational subject matter expert.
- Drive automation and infrastructure-as-code practices across platform services.
- Collaborate on BGP route reflectors and broader network and platform tooling.
- Improve DNS and platform service observability using Grafana, Loki, and Mimir.
Requirements
- 5+ years of production experience in platform, infrastructure, or systems engineering.
- Deep hands-on experience with DNS at scale, including recursive and authoritative DNS, DNSSEC, zone management, and complex resolution troubleshooting.
- Strong Linux systems engineering fundamentals, including networking, service management, and production service ownership.
- Experience building or maintaining APIs or automation layers, with proficiency in PHP and/or Go or Rust.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
