Senior Compute Engineer (Go + Kube)

Responsibilities
- Design, refactor, and write patches for large Go codebases.
- Write comprehensive tests using the Go standard library, Ginkgo, and Gomega.
- Troubleshoot applications using logs and profiling techniques.
- Deploy, scale, and maintain applications on Kubernetes platforms.
- Manage Kubernetes internal mechanisms and resource quota systems.
- Work with Docker, containers, Linux control groups, PostgreSQL, Prometheus, and monitoring systems.
- Develop Go API services and web/HTTP microservices.
- Read and understand Java code and contribute to monorepos and build systems where needed.
Requirements
- 14+ years of professional software development experience with Go.
- Deep knowledge of Go, including language internals and large Go codebases.
- Proven experience with Kubernetes and container technologies.
- Strong understanding of Linux-based systems and control groups for resource and container management.
- Experience developing Go APIs and web/HTTP microservices.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Prometheus, logging, profiling, and monitoring systems.
- Strong programming experience, preferably in Python or Java, with Kubernetes.
- Experience managing monorepos and familiarity with CI tools.
- Experience with Bazel as a build system.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
