Responsibilities
- Analyze browser extensions through static and dynamic analysis to identify malicious behavior and security issues.
- Reverse engineer and debug JavaScript, including complex or obfuscated code.
- Detect, document, and report vulnerabilities with root cause analysis and remediation recommendations.
- Investigate and support the takedown of malicious browser extensions.
- Conduct code reviews and provide secure-coding feedback.
- Design detection rules and security patterns for identifying violations at scale.
- Monitor emerging threat trends and share findings with the security team.
- Support automation, security workflow improvements, documentation, and tooling enhancements.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on JavaScript experience, including closures, prototypes, variable scope, hoisting, callbacks, and object-oriented programming principles.
- Hands-on experience with HTML and CSS.
- Knowledge of JSON, AJAX, and ES6/ES7 standards.
- Good understanding of Node.js and Webpack.
- Experience with front-end frameworks or libraries such as React, Angular, or jQuery.
- Strong code analysis, debugging, and JavaScript reverse-engineering skills.
- Ability to identify malicious activity in JavaScript code.
- Cybersecurity experience or strong security knowledge is advantageous.
- Familiarity with DAST and SAST methodologies is advantageous.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity tools such as Burp Suite or Nmap is advantageous.
- Understanding of obfuscation and de-obfuscation techniques is advantageous.
- Experience writing technical and security assessment reports is advantageous.
- English proficiency and collaborative communication skills.
