Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable infrastructure with development teams.
- Build and maintain automated deployment and testing pipelines.
- Develop monitoring and alerting systems to identify issues proactively.
- Troubleshoot and escalate production incidents to minimize downtime.
- Improve infrastructure, processes, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 application support.
- Perform routine system maintenance and upgrades.
- Support security posture and compliance initiatives.
- Communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentor junior engineers and share site reliability knowledge.
- Identify organizational improvements and propose alternatives for team structures and execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in high-traffic, high-availability environments.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, Ruby, Java, or Go.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and technologies including AWS, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Chef, Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform.
- Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Nagios.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of distributed systems and networks.
- Experience or familiarity with running, tuning, and optimizing databases and queries.
- Prior leadership or senior-level site reliability engineering experience and familiarity with backend technologies are preferred.
