Base Salary
$225k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build core backend systems for fantasy contests and user experiences.
- Architect scalable, distributed systems for millions of concurrent users.
- Lead backend initiatives from concept to deployment with clean interfaces.
- Optimize system performance and address bottlenecks through monitoring.
- Collaborate with product, design, and frontend teams to deliver features.
- Mentor engineers and shape backend engineering best practices.
- Drive innovation and technical direction at the leadership level.
Requirements
- 7+ years of backend software engineering experience, including staff-level roles.
- Proven ability to design and scale distributed systems for real-time environments.
- Strong proficiency in backend languages like Go, Python, Node.js, or Java.
- Deep knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, caching strategies, and message queues.
- Experience designing and maintaining RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
- Cloud experience with AWS, GCP, or similar, and familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong product mindset with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Bonus: Proficiency in Elixir and passion for sports or gaming.
