Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Python services integrated with Apache Kafka.
- Improve Kafka reliability, retry handling, message tracking, and dead-letter processing.
- Implement structured JSON logging, monitoring, event tracking, reconciliation, and completion verification.
- Work with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, external APIs, and distributed systems.
- Troubleshoot production issues and support live production applications.
- Contribute to unit testing, documentation, and deployments.
Requirements
- Require 5–7 years of hands-on Python development experience.
- Require strong Apache Kafka experience, including producers, consumers, consumer groups, offsets, retries, and dead-letter queues.
- Require good understanding of PostgreSQL queries, schema design, and JSON/JSONB.
- Require experience with structured logging and application troubleshooting.
- Require exposure to event-driven or microservices architecture and the ability to write unit tests.
- Preferred experience includes OpenTelemetry, OpenLineage, Marquez, MongoDB, Grafana, Loki, Kubernetes, Kustomize, Argo CD, distributed tracing, and observability concepts.
