Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement high-quality C/C++ software for avionics systems.
- Engineer mission-critical applications in deterministic hard real-time operating system environments.
- Integrate and test avionics subsystems across aircraft platforms.
- Use Python for scripting, automation, and system-level integration.
- Use Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, and Bamboo for lifecycle management, version control, documentation, and continuous integration/deployment.
- Implement and validate ARINC 429, ARINC 653, CAN, RS-232, and switched network communication protocols.
- Apply DO-178B/C and ARP4754 standards to software assurance, compliance, traceability, and validation.
- Perform requirements engineering and traceability using IBM Rational DOORS.
- Provide technical mentorship and support knowledge sharing and professional development.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience in embedded software development for avionics or safety-critical systems.
- Demonstrated proficiency with C++ and Python.
- Proficiency with Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Confluence, and IBM Rational DOORS.
- Familiarity with DO-178B/C, ARP4754, and safety-critical software development processes is valued.
- Experience with RTOS environments and avionics communication protocols including ARINC 429/653, CAN, and RS-232 is valued.
- Must meet U.S. Person or export-authorization eligibility requirements under U.S. export control laws.
