Responsibilities
- Develop expertise in Ferguson’s Trilogie ERP platform and support its production operation.
- Monitor system health and investigate application issues, incidents, data problems, integrations, and performance issues.
- Perform root cause analysis and drive resolution of complex application and system issues across multiple teams.
- Serve as a senior technical escalation resource for software and application support issues.
- Answer functional and technical questions from support teams and business users.
- Review proposed code changes for production impact, system behavior, and supportability.
- Participate in a rotating after-hours support schedule for critical production incidents.
- Document findings, resolutions, support guidelines, and known issues.
- Mentor team members and identify improvements to monitoring, support processes, operational efficiency, and system reliability.
Requirements
- Extensive experience supporting applications built on UniData, UniBasic, or other Pick-based technologies.
- Strong experience resolving complex application and production support issues in enterprise environments.
- Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and resolve complex issues across multiple teams.
- Experience supporting applications that use APIs and web services.
- Experience with Oracle and/or SQL Server databases and multi-server environments.
- Understanding of high-volume transaction processing environments.
- Experience with UniData file structures, dictionaries, triggers, and multi-level files.
- Ability to analyze application behavior, troubleshoot code, and recommend technical solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with structured change management and support processes.
- Preferred: UniData administration, complex UniQuery statements, large-scale ERP systems, application monitoring, operational support, ITIL-driven environments, quality assurance or testing, and Excel/data analysis.
