Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery with enterprise customers and connect technical requirements to measurable business outcomes.
- Design enterprise-grade data transformation and analytics architectures using dbt.
- Partner with Sales to communicate the technical and business value of the dbt platform.
- Lead customer evaluations, technical validation, trials, and proof-of-value engagements.
- Build relationships with technical practitioners, data leaders, executive stakeholders, technology partners, and consulting partners.
- Guide customers through technical architecture, security, governance, deployment, adoption, and expansion considerations.
- Bring customer and field insights to Product and Engineering to influence product strategy and roadmap.
- Contribute technical expertise, reusable practices, and thought leadership to Field Engineering and the dbt community.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in sales engineering, solutions architecture, consulting, or a similar customer-facing technical role within data, analytics, or BI.
- Strong foundation in SQL, data transformation, ETL/ELT, data modeling, and modern cloud data warehouse, lakehouse, and analytics architectures.
- Ability to translate technical and business requirements into concrete solutions and measurable outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to build credibility and trusted relationships with data practitioners through senior executives.
- Experience with dbt or analytics engineering is a bonus.
- Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or other modern cloud data platforms is a bonus.
- Experience with dimensional modeling, Kimball, Data Vault, 3NF, Informatica, Boomi, Talend, or complex enterprise evaluations and migrations is a bonus.
