Responsibilities
- Build and maintain production mobile applications and shared platform capabilities across iOS, Android, and cross-platform frameworks.
- Lead mobile architecture, legacy modernization, technical discovery, delivery planning, release coordination, and post-launch improvement.
- Design mobile foundations including shared components, SDKs, design systems, offline capabilities, authentication flows, telemetry, and release infrastructure.
- Develop responsible AI-enabled mobile experiences and integrate applications with AI services, APIs, orchestration layers, and data sources.
- Establish guardrails, validation strategies, monitoring, and feedback loops for AI-assisted engineering and AI-powered mobile features.
- Optimize applications for performance, memory, battery life, network efficiency, offline behavior, accessibility, localization, security, and reliability.
- Implement integrations with RESTful APIs, GraphQL services, identity providers, analytics platforms, event-driven workflows, and mobile backend services.
- Own mobile testing, CI/CD, signing, provisioning, observability, crash reporting, deployment, production support, and incident response.
- Set mobile architecture standards, resolve complex technical issues, influence direction across teams, and manage technical risks and dependencies.
- Mentor mobile engineers through pairing, code reviews, architecture reviews, design discussions, and technical leadership coaching.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software development experience, including significant hands-on mobile engineering experience.
- Proven experience owning complex mobile applications or platform capabilities and modernizing legacy mobile architectures and delivery practices.
- Hands-on experience building and shipping iOS and Android applications with strong cross-platform mobile development experience.
- Expert-level iOS and Android engineering skills with strong proficiency in Swift, Kotlin, Apple platform development, Android architecture, Jetpack, coroutines, networking, persistence, testing, and app store releases.
- Experience with cross-platform technologies such as React Native, Flutter, Kotlin Multiplatform, .NET MAUI, or equivalent frameworks.
- Deep understanding of MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture, modular architecture, dependency injection, and design-system integration.
- Experience integrating mobile applications with APIs, GraphQL, identity providers, telemetry, crash reporting, analytics, feature flags, and remote configuration.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools and AI-enabled engineering workflows, plus knowledge of LLM-powered product experiences, prompt-driven workflows, structured outputs, validation, and responsible AI guardrails.
- Strong understanding of mobile security, secure storage, authentication, authorization, privacy, encryption, certificate pinning, OWASP Mobile risks, and compliance-aware engineering.
- Experience with unit, UI automation, integration, contract, snapshot, and regression testing, as well as mobile CI/CD, build automation, signing, provisioning, release tracks, observability, and production monitoring.
- Comfort working with AWS and/or Azure cloud environments and backend integration patterns.
- Proficiency with Git and modern development workflows, plus strong understanding of performance tuning, reliability engineering, accessibility, and user-centered mobile design.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, cross-functional execution, mentoring, and independent ownership of complete projects.
- Preferred experience includes mobile platform libraries, SDKs, design systems, offline-first synchronization, observability, AI-powered mobile features, regulated applications, event streaming, messaging, real-time workflows, and Agile/Scrum environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience.
