Responsibilities
- Build and ship Android experiences for accessing, organizing, and building on ChatGPT-created content.
- Own features end to end from product exploration and technical design through implementation, experimentation, launch, and iteration.
- Develop scalable and maintainable foundations for evolving Libraries experiences.
- Improve Android architecture, performance, reliability, responsiveness, accessibility, and visual polish across diverse devices.
- Integrate Android platform capabilities to create intuitive, native mobile experiences.
- Partner with product, design, research, data science, and engineering teams to translate AI capabilities into useful products.
- Help establish technical direction and raise Android development quality across the team.
Requirements
- Have a strong track record of building and shipping high-quality Android products used at scale.
- Bring deep expertise in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, the Android SDK, and modern Android architecture and development practices.
- Care deeply about product quality, including performance, reliability, accessibility, responsiveness, and visual polish.
- Be comfortable owning complex product experiences across the full Android stack.
- Have strong product instincts and the ability to turn ambiguous ideas into simple, intuitive user experiences.
- Design scalable and maintainable systems that enable other engineers to move faster.
- Work effectively across engineering, product, design, research, and data science.
- Be excited to build zero-to-one experiences and adapt as AI capabilities and user expectations evolve.
