Base Salary
$168k - $227k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable distributed systems for AWS EC2 network virtualization infrastructure.
- Lead technical design and architecture decisions for packet processing, network policy enforcement, and traffic management systems.
- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and technical guidance.
- Collaborate with network engineering, security, and product management teams to deliver customer-facing improvements.
- Optimize system performance through profiling, benchmarking, and implementation of latency and throughput improvements.
- Participate in on-call rotations, troubleshoot production issues, and improve system reliability and availability.
- Contribute to long-term technical strategy and roadmap planning.
- Write maintainable code in C++, Rust, or Java.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 8 years of programming experience with one or more software programming languages.
- At least 8 years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including reliability and scaling.
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team leader.
- Preferred: 8 or more years covering the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: master’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
