Responsibilities
- Oversee Google Apigee platform architecture and implementation across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
- Act as the primary escalation point for Apigee and platform issues.
- Design and support end-to-end platform migrations, modernization programs, and transformation initiatives.
- Drive infrastructure automation, platform governance, security controls, and compliance standards.
- Define high availability, disaster recovery, scalability, resiliency, observability, monitoring, and operational-readiness requirements.
- Collaborate with networking, cloud, security, DevOps, and infrastructure teams.
- Lead architecture reviews, design workshops, technical governance reviews, proof-of-concepts, and innovation initiatives.
- Deliver enterprise-scale API platform implementations and manage global stakeholders and clients.
Requirements
- 8–14 years of relevant experience in API management, cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or enterprise architecture.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Google Apigee, including Apigee X and/or Apigee Hybrid.
- Strong expertise in Kubernetes operations and platform architecture.
- Experience designing and implementing cloud-native solutions on GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, IAM, and infrastructure services.
- Experience with Terraform or equivalent Infrastructure as Code tools, CI/CD pipelines, and APIOps practices.
- Expertise in enterprise security controls, API security, compliance requirements, and resilient platform design.
- Experience leading architecture sessions, workshops, governance reviews, migrations, and modernization programs.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Preferred qualifications include relevant cloud, Kubernetes, or Apigee certifications; IBM API Connect and DataPower migration experience; ArgoCD, Flux CD, Helm, Kustomize, security scanning, vulnerability management, API portals, API monetization, API analytics, SLA/SLO, KPI dashboards, and operating-model experience.
- Relevant certifications may include Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, Google Apigee API Engineer Certification, and Certified Kubernetes Administrator.
