Base Salary
$91k - $186k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend infrastructure supporting high availability and automated data-center failover.
- Architect and implement resiliency solutions for distributed systems, including failover and failback workflows.
- Develop and manage Ansible and Python automation for recovery operations.
- Lead disaster recovery testing and validate system resiliency and operational readiness.
- Build distributed task-processing workflows and backend services using technologies including Celery and FastAPI.
- Collaborate with architects and product owners on technical direction, requirements, planning, estimation, and delivery.
- Establish best practices for reliability, recovery, and continuity engineering.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, complex problem solving, documentation, and hands-on software development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; a comparable combination of education, job-specific certifications, and experience, including military service, may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 5+ years of industry-relevant experience typically required for this level.
- Hands-on expertise with Ansible for infrastructure automation and failover orchestration.
- Strong Python experience building automation, services, and resiliency tooling.
- Strong backend engineering experience with distributed systems.
- Experience with Celery, including asynchronous workflows, retries, and scheduling.
- Understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, resiliency architectures, and graceful failure handling.
- Experience building APIs with FastAPI and familiarity with relational database access using SQLAlchemy or SQLModel.
- Experience operating at a senior or principal engineering level, owning work from design through implementation and validation, and collaborating with product owners, architects, and engineering peers.
- No required certifications or licenses.
