Base Salary

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an escalation point for junior Site Reliability Engineers during complex or high-impact incidents.
  • Execute complex change management tickets and change requests while minimizing service disruption and maintaining realm compliance.
  • Onboard new services and tools, ensuring operational readiness and proper integration.
  • Mentor and train SREs and maintain clear operational documentation.
  • Automate manual work and operational tasks to reduce toil and support continuous delivery and availability.
  • Identify unsafe or inefficient practices and develop safer, more effective solutions with service and engineering teams.
  • Resolve incidents, service requests, change requests, alarms, and issues across large, interconnected systems.
  • Define and promote change management, continuous integration, and deployment best practices.
  • Develop production architectures, scalability approaches, and system designs for distributed services.
  • Perform capacity planning, demand forecasting, performance analysis, system tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide cloud operations for Oracle National Security Realms in collaboration with global service teams, engineering teams, service owners, and customer support.

Requirements

  • Technology-related bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficiency writing services and task automation using Python, Bash, Ruby, Perl, JavaScript, or Java.
  • Knowledge of Linux and/or Unix operating systems, Linux internals, and host-based networking.
  • Familiarity with DNS, DHCP, HTTP, and TCP protocols.
  • Experience with configuration management solutions such as Chef or Puppet.
  • Experience designing, managing, and extending monitoring solutions for large-scale environments.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and experience working in mission-critical operations, technical support, or NOC environments.
  • Experience executing work under change management procedures and resolving automated and manual alarms using runbooks.
  • Specific experience deploying AI infrastructure with clustered GPUs, deploying and maintaining LLMs, and understanding model integration for customer solutions.
  • Strong communication, writing, organization, learning, customer-service, and knowledge-sharing skills.
  • Ability to work a 24/7 shift rotation with on-call duties, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Depending on the position and location, U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph may be required.
  • Candidates may need to reside in Austin, Texas, or Reston, Virginia, depending on the role location.
