Base Salary

$99k - $225k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and integration of ashore and afloat network and cloud-agnostic system architectures.
  • Design architectures for Windows Server-based enterprise IT systems and management tools.
  • Assess current-state systems and network environments and identify cloud migration dependencies.
  • Develop workload migration plans with timelines, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct system assessments, troubleshoot issues, and recommend performance enhancements.
  • Prepare technical documentation, diagrams, and reports for stakeholders.
  • Provide architectural guidance and oversight during implementation.
  • Scale systems engineering practices involving digital engineering, automation, and orchestration.
  • Collaborate with engineers, program managers, technical managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior developers and team members.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience with enterprise systems engineering, development, or maintenance.
  • Experience with Red Hat or Microsoft enterprise technologies, virtualization platforms, or hybrid cloud services.
  • Experience designing or implementing secure AWS or Azure cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of SAN, HCI, backup, or disaster recovery architectures.
  • Knowledge of voice, video, and IP-based communications systems.
  • Ability to support deployable or tactical IT environments and DoD cybersecurity compliance, including RMF or STIGs.
  • Ability to develop and maintain infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code principles.
  • Secret clearance required.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD 8570.11 IAT Level II certification, such as CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GSEC, or SSCP, within 30 days of starting.
  • Preferred: experience with systems engineering practices and enterprise platforms spanning servers, storage, networking, software, and application services.
  • Preferred: experience coordinating with senior stakeholders and organizational leaders.
  • Preferred: knowledge of RF and SATCOM communication networks.
  • Preferred: mentoring experience and strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Preferred: master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Preferred: CASP+ or CISSP certification.
