Base Salary

$136k - $232k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain full-stack conversational AI platform capabilities using React, TypeScript, Java, and Spring Boot.
  • Design scalable APIs, user interfaces, and backend services for configuring, managing, and evaluating conversational agents.
  • Build PostgreSQL and pgvector data-access workflows for retrieval, similarity search, and AI-related use cases.
  • Use Redis for distributed caching, state management, performance optimization, and application reliability.
  • Contribute to architecture decisions involving service boundaries, APIs, observability, deployment, and operational resilience.
  • Deploy and operate containerized services using Kubernetes and Helm.
  • Implement telemetry, tracing, logging, metrics, and performance monitoring with OpenTelemetry.
  • Evaluate AI development workflows and tools such as LangChain4j.
  • Participate in design and code reviews, incident response, root-cause analysis, proof-of-concept work, and release improvements.
  • Define engineering standards and reusable platform patterns while mentoring other engineers and partnering with product and design teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8–15 years of professional software engineering experience, including full-stack application development.
  • Strong production experience with React and TypeScript.
  • Production backend development experience with Java and Spring Boot, including WebFlux or other reactive programming patterns.
  • Experience designing and maintaining APIs and services in cloud-native environments.
  • Hands-on PostgreSQL experience, including pgvector or other vector-search approaches.
  • Experience using Redis for caching, performance optimization, or distributed application support.
  • Experience deploying services on Kubernetes and managing releases with Helm.
  • Experience implementing observability with OpenTelemetry, logging, metrics, and distributed tracing.
  • Experience with AI-enabled development or application workflows, including LangChain4j or similar frameworks.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a hybrid environment with engineering, product, and design partners.
