Responsibilities
- Embed with enterprise retail customers to understand their technical environments and business workflows.
- Design, build, and deploy AI solutions tailored to customer needs across Instacart's platform.
- Integrate Instacart's AI capabilities into customer ecosystems, even with undocumented systems.
- Maintain a close relationship with R&D, participating in product reviews and proposing platform improvements.
- Collaborate with the AI Solutions Architect to translate requirements into working software.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers during implementation.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with a proven ability to write production-quality code.
- Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, function calling, and agent frameworks.
- Proficiency in Python or another backend language used in data-intensive environments.
- Ability to integrate with complex enterprise data environments and legacy systems.
- Experience working directly with external enterprise customers in a consulting capacity.
- Strong knowledge of retail and e-commerce system fundamentals.
- Excellent communication skills to translate technical findings for R&D and product teams.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
