Base Salary

$142k - $213k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of distributed backend systems using Golang.
  • Define architecture, technical standards, and engineering best practices.
  • Build and operate cloud-native applications on AWS.
  • Deploy and manage services using Kubernetes and Terraform.
  • Drive technical planning, estimation, and execution of large-scale initiatives.
  • Partner with product, architecture, and engineering teams to deliver business outcomes.
  • Mentor engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and technical coaching.
  • Ensure reliability, scalability, security, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of software engineering experience with a strong backend focus.
  • At least 4–6 years of experience leading technical projects and delivering production systems.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Golang.
  • Strong experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, distributed systems, microservices, REST APIs, CI/CD and DevOps practices, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
  • Experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems and microservices.
  • Strong understanding of concurrency, performance optimization, resiliency patterns, and service reliability.
  • Proven track record of mentoring and developing engineers.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred, though coursework and experience or extensive related professional experience may also be considered.
  • Preferred experience includes video processing, media workflows, video analytics, LLM-powered applications, AI agents, agentic workflows, end-to-end product delivery, and high-scale cloud-native platforms.

  • The stated District of Columbia base-pay range is $141,850.78–$212,776.16, with additional bonus eligibility for most non-sales positions.
  • Comcast generally prefers employees to work on-site unless the team is designated as virtual; some roles may offer remote consideration for candidates living more than 100 miles from the office.
