Classified Platform Engineer

Responsibilities
- Own the architecture and technical standards for the classified software and platform application portfolio.
- Design and build production React and Go applications for fully air-gapped classified environments.
- Develop S3 storage integrations and policies and build administrative interfaces for access-control platforms.
- Design relational and distributed datastores supporting authorization decisions, audit records, and application state.
- Own the DevSecOps path to production, including containerization, Kubernetes deployment, GitOps pipelines, scanning, signing, and accreditation evidence.
- Break down multi-quarter programs into deliverable work and mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and pairing.
- Partner with cybersecurity, program management, systems engineering, infrastructure engineering, and business stakeholders to define and deliver technical plans.
Requirements
- Professional experience shipping production web applications with React or a comparable modern frontend framework and TypeScript.
- Professional experience developing backend services in Go.
- Experience designing and using relational databases such as PostgreSQL or CockroachDB, including schemas, migrations, and query performance.
- Experience with Podman or Docker, Kubernetes, GitOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge and experience with Linux operating systems such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Rocky Linux, or Ubuntu.
- Experience leading technical work through architecture ownership, design and code reviews, technical direction, and clear technical documentation.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a US Top Secret Clearance with customer approval.
- May be required to obtain and maintain a DoD 8140/8570 qualifying certification.
- Preferred experience includes virtual desktop infrastructure, application and desktop brokering, Kubernetes virtualization, authorization systems, policy-as-code, S3-compatible storage, POSIX and FUSE, air-gapped environments, offline builds, software supply-chain security, observability, and security concepts including encryption, authentication, IAM, Zero Trust Architecture, and NIST SP 800-53.
- Preferred experience as a tech lead or founding engineer, including establishing engineering practices, onboarding engineers, and interviewing and hiring software engineers.
