Base Salary
$139k - $204k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, verify, deploy, and operationalize real-time services with high-throughput and low-latency requirements.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, technical design, estimation, sprint planning, coding, testing, deployment, and on-call support.
- Own, operate, and maintain services in a distributed production environment.
- Develop scalable, resilient systems for a globally distributed voice platform with high availability, reliability, throughput, low latency, and media fidelity.
- Work with customers, product managers, architects, technical leads, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver robust solutions.
- Create clear technical documentation and evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability.
- Support incident response, monitoring, alerting, and continuous delivery.
Requirements
- Minimum 2–3+ years of hands-on experience working with large-scale distributed applications on JVM-based technologies.
- Experience building RESTful services, designing APIs, and using event-driven architectures such as Kafka and SQS.
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, OpenStack, or Azure.
- Experience with on-call rotations, incident response, and monitoring or alerting tools such as Prometheus, Datadog, and Grafana.
- Strong Java fundamentals and the ability to architect, review, and debug code.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems.
- Proven ability to evaluate AI-generated code and demonstrated proficiency with AI coding assistants such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor.
- Excellent written communication and technical documentation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related engineering field.
- Preferred experience includes scaling SQL/NoSQL data tiers, caching technologies, production backend systems, SIP protocol, and Stir/Shaken protocol.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.
